update 07-04: Incursion Minis

After all those AFVs I have painted I needed a break! Time to dig out one of the fantastic Incursion minis: the A.P.E. HMG trooper.
I just love this minis, the bubble gum blowing head is juts so US WW 2'ish for me. I tried my best to give the mini a battle worn "cool" feel.

I hope you like him. (I changed the left arm and the base, the claw is a bit too Orky for my taste, while the base is a round Warmachine base - which I seriously dislike!)

Incursion is a game set in the world of Secrets of the Third Reich and is a great combination of board game and miniatures game.

[Weird WWII]

I'm painting up mine as we speak too.  I changed the Sgt's axe hand for a VF hand throwing a satchel charge and stuck a German helmet on Sluggers' bat.  I also titled his head as if he was looking at it and trying to shake the bloodied helmet off his bat.

Great minis to paint and they look fantastic on any Weird WWII table.

They are good, eh? The game is not too shabby either! It has a nice fun factor.
As said I do not like the Orky claws and the too huge MP40s on the German girls, but all in all the minis are just great. If you are into weird war, they are IMO  must have!

Now - where are my US para Zombies to go with them...

I hear that!  No WWWII game is complete with those either.  

I'm partial to the power shears as well.  I think APEs would be great airborne assets if real so I made mine airborne as well but I choose the 82nd unlike your 101st.  Those patches and flags are a bit challenging at that scale huh?  I did however find some great 1/48 rank badge decals so I can skip that painting job.

I must say, though, that I don?t really like that blue cap, it somehow doesn?t work well with the olive drab. Maybe a white or red cap, (Boston Red Sox?) might have been better.

But that powered fist is absolutely splendid, and I love the brass on the ammo feed.

The blue cap stands out too much, true! But it is there as a small homage to the old TV show "Magnum P.I."...
It was one of the reasons to add the flag to the left chest plate, BTW! At least some blue there...

I recently bought the APE suit starter set. Cool figures and what looks to be a good game. Having seen your figure, I really must assemble them.
Maybe even paint them...

Now that you mention it (TM)! I?ve never watched much "Magnum", but it is instantly recognizable! Leave it then.
