First squadron of Hornets pretty much done and ready for a game.  Also, my sculpts of the Manta is now printed up and the first shapeways sample is getting paint.  I will be sending this Manta to Bob Layzell, the original artist who did the painting in the TTA books.  Just waiting on the decals to arrive and then do some detailing.

Sweet!  I still have two of the TTA books on the shelf.
I built a Hornet from balsa sometime back around 1980 and it is still one of my favorite small spaceship designs.

Bob Layzell had mentioned that he always envisioned the red ring around the manta as some sort of shied generator.  I'll need to add some sort of glow effect to it and the hull.

The manta will be a kit next year. Same scale as the other ships, but it will be much larger than this one.  The test models is about 2.5 inches long.
