Yes...the models are quite big....:)

And yes...its a 1cm grid.

@Rules
I just played two small games with "Galleys, Guns and Glory" from Thomas Foss.
I liked the rules and will give them another trythe next days...;)

Will give you an update how they worked out with bigger fleets.

Cheers,
Don

The pics you've already sent are very evocative, my interest for this thread goes higher and higher! Eager to see your fleets in a big battle! Cheers!

Okay, today I played the first big battle with the galleys...;)

26 ships on the table of Battlefield Berlin....:)
Pretty blue surface, but I am not done with my sea mat.

So here are the starting position of the fleets.
Pretty straight forward...three battles on each side.

And a sideview...

First shots are fired...!

In the center the galleys go full speed.

Next to the little fortress the first fights breack out.

More fighting....;)

Strand my opponent is sneaking with his side flottilla in the back of my center....ouch....8)

After 2 hours a race sets in: who is coming with more ships to help his center...

On the left flank the genouese manage to throw the corsairs back...due to acurate arqebuse fire.

At that time we had to leave and called it a draw.

Not a bad game....:)
Exited for the next playtest.

Cheers,
Don

Am I much mistaken in the assumption that you use your own rules?

I wonder how your plans would scale for 32mm figures? There is a serious lack of galleys in that scale.
