I have added a few more bases. Here is a picture of the total so far...

They still look very shiny in the photo but I promise they are not do much in real life. The low sun this time of year in the UK might be something to do with the way the photos keep coming out. I will have to try some more at a different time of day.

Next I plan to ass some with more pools, paths and clearings to open up the bases a little (still going to be full of vegetation though).

Very nice bit of jungle.  I like how the combination of plants and materials adds to the whole.  Well done.   :-* :-*

Here we go...I added some terrain with water features, paths, clearings etc. This lot have a more open feel to allow the players to place figures actually in the terrain, while still being dense enough to show that it is difficult terrain.

Next up I am planning to make some terrain that is a little bit more 'fantasy/scifi/pulp' jungle.

Really like the addition of the water effects. Like others have suggested, a quick drybrush on the trunks and palm leaves would be a great way to bump those up a notch. But inspiring work, regardless, especially the bases. Thanks for sharing the whole process.

Admire the work like others here.

However, highlights a challenge we all face when creating 'jungle'.  I have lots of similar bases that are based on palm trees.

But most 'jungle' isn't based on palm trees as far as I can tell.  I've found a few pieces at local Ross stores (USA) that I will be adapting but it is a challenge to find suitable pieces to create more realistic jungle without scratch building trees.  Tall trunks with perhaps a two or three level canopy with vines dripping off of them would really do the trick - and then use much of what is seen in this thread to create the understory.

Right now I can probably create a half dozen bases to suit what I'm after (in 15 mm, of course) but I'd like about two dozen!

This is a lovely set of jungle bases. The water is a great idea.

Fantastic stuff Rob, keep it up. I love these "this is how I done it" threads they are probably the most helpful part of LAF IMHO :)
