A different desert war...
« on: 28 January 2018, 11:18:05 PM »
Well my buddy Skip has spent last year getting our Crusades project ready for us to play and last night we got to play our first game with it...

Skip started painting the Crusaders last year and I was doing Arabs, but after slow progress and only getting two spear units done, Skip took on doing the Arabs as well. He took all mine, added more, and cranked out two huge armies! More to come too, and Im hoping to contribute a couple more too!

We played it using Soldiers of God rules that we both love, and are gonna start our campaign soon. Im pleased to report, in the first outing... Skip managed to lose after all that work, but it was a great game and a learning curve for us both... but I dont think he will underestimate the horse archers again!

A lovely looking game, I really like your table.

Soldiers of God are my favorite rules for the Crusades. Horse archers can be deadly, providing you get the right hand of cards! Of course they can also totally useless with the wrong cards  ;)
