Quick Review - Freeplay '88 supplement for Shipwreck
« on: February 03, 2018, 10:47:10 PM »
Hmmmm,

Don't know really why my posting to the Boardgamegeek page for this supplement was refused, since the reply was rather nonsensical, e.g. "50% irrelevant, and 60% poor formatting", or vice versa.

Seems pretty daft to me to refuse to let the info below be posted, especially since, IIRC, there's no info on BGG on this rules supplement for Shipwreck, other than the title listing.

Anyway, here's a quick review for the Shipwreck rules supplement, "Freeplay '88", in case you are considering it, or the basis "Shipwreck" modern set of naval rules for your Cold War and Ultra-Modern gaming:

Subject: Freeplay '88

Definitely worth buying, if you get the Shipwreck rules, since this supplement considerably expands on them.

Lots of good info, and scenarios, which can be played together as a linked campaign, or separately, as one-off battles.

These, and the basic rules, which you need in order to use this supplement, can be purchased from Wargame Vault now, as PDF downloads.

Wargame Vault also has the ship play sheets for various nations and alliances, to go with them too. You'll need those as well, since many/most are not included with the Shipwreck rules.

The ship and sub forms can also be found on the Shipwreck Yahoo Group, along with a Quick Reference Sheet too. All are in the files section, there.
