Oldhammer Trolls
« on: 09 February 2018, 06:28:45 PM »
I'm looking for some newer trolls to add to my GW Trolls.
Is there anyone making any?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

If it's 90s 'oldhammer' (strictly speaking, midhammer I believe ::)) then the Old Crooked Claw trolls are available from knightmare miniatures.

Macrocosm has some resin ones hidden in their fantasy ranges (I found them under goblins) that may also suit.

Awesome, Thanks for the Knightmare info I was afraid the old CC stuff was gone for good.

Drew Williams sculpted some great ones a few years ago and sold some in person and I think through his Satyr Art Studio Facebook page. You might see if he has any to sell. I googled for them and found a couple blog posts, one by a fellow LAFfer:

Drew also did a second set of three trolls. ( Unpainted pic again, next to the giant.) http://www.zerotwentythree.com/2017/03/marsh-big-april.html

Not sure if any are available, I think he may have had them cast to order. They're really nice figures, so it may be worth asking if these are the sort of trolls you're after.

I think both Foundry/Warmonger and Effin Cool Miniatures have some trolls, but they're also both larger - more giant sized.

Warmonger/ Foundry do some trolls and giant trolls that have an Oldhammer vibe (nice but not that cheap)

Since this thread was partially a reminder to get working on those trolls, here's some pics of them cleaned up & assembled, hopefully a better reference.

The Ral Partha trolls are worth looking at. Lovely figures at a fantastic price (between £2.75 and £3.50!!)

I was about to recommend the Borderland trolls from Artizan but I see 3 fingers has already done so. They're great figures.

Those Ral Partha ones look very good, too (especially with those fantastic paintjobs, Steam Flunky!). Might have to get some. You can never have too many trolls...
