I've had these for a while but seeing the new Brigade Games ones (which are lovely) it inspired me to get them out again and look at finishing them.
They are all laser, cut mainly from 2mm acrylic with styrene rod guns. The first picture is the first one I made before moving onto larger and larger ones ad then the following two pictures are of what I have painted and then the fleet as a whole.
Originally they were just stuck to the bases but I thought about putting magnets in them after seeing similar things done with X-wing ships. Fortunately there is a hole in the bottom hull plate that's big enough for a magnet to be glued in. I also had to add a thin plate underneath to help keep it in place. I stuck a magnet to the top of the base and hey presto, magnetised neffs
Now this is supposed to be a British fleet (although some of aerofoils need repairing) but it could be any but the idea will be to do most of the major colonial nations of the period. When I get round to doing the Japanese fleet it will follow a similar style to the 28mm ones I have (only larger).
I really fancy doing some scaled terrain to match them including some floating islands for Venus and something along the lines of what I have for Mars
cheers
