I think Stevedaccs had some bad luck being matched up against this entry. The first entry is really cool and works like a wonder. The miniatures work well together, the background is cool and the painting is nice too. But then you see the second entry and there is no way I cannot vote on this one. Never ever expected anything like this and it's a really ambitious entry for such a fast competition as the LPL. Not only that, but the painting is great too. Yes, most original LPL entry so far!

The first entry is very good too. But fortune (i.e. the matchup) is not in the stars for these marvellous miniatures.

Sorry, I voted for the 2nd entry beacause of its originality!

However both are very beautiful, good job and congratulations to you both!
But in this case originality wins!

The balloons are beautiful, but too uniform.  Mad props for construction (I hate you for thinking of this before I did) but the vote goes to the ladies for the painting.

I have had this idea for a while for an LPL round. Been hunting out the bits and pieces and ordering stuff from eureka. All the while hoping the same, that no one else would come up with the idea. Had a scare one day, I am sure someone posted a picture of an older balloon rider (Ray rivers I think) but it was very different from my version it was also for the Japanese.
