Both brilliant. But how can I vote against my beloved Beakies? A tough decision, but those boys won it in the end.

And again two very nice entries! The cowboys are for nice. But the beakies and the scene in the picture earned Pil the vote.

Ouch, I'm up against tough competition. Nevertheless, the cowboys do have a very nice paintjob on them, good work!

I really like the cowboys, but the dark atmosphere surrounding the marines did it for me.
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Yeah, I kind of gave up for this round when I saw the competition 8) I can't make any excuses for it either, my picture could've been better (esp. lighting wise), so I may have to invest in some better lights in the near future but other than that I'm quite pleased with my entry.

I suspect that any Games Workshop entry, especially from 40K, is gonna suffer on this forum.  Given a well-painted 40K entry versus a moderately well-painted pulp or Victorian entry, I'll probably give the nod to the pulp/Victorian entry every time.  The reason we're here, instead of on some GW-fanboy forum, is we like the pulpy goodness.  This will probably hurt me later in the LPL when I enter my own 40K team.

I really like the cowboys, but those are some very nicely painted beakies, Pil :)  So difficult, but I went for the beakies because the paintjob is just a touch better for me :)

I agree completly with you on that point. Still knowing that that is the case I already entered two 40k entries and the 3rd one will be showing up next round. I just had to finish those models and painting for the LPL and finishing an army at the same time was just too much to ask.

There will be some non-GW in the next rounds, but with only 2 or 3 pulp entries in total I'm defenitly not aiming for high scores. Still it's the fun in painting that counts for me. :)

They are both very good, I like the Beakies and think that against a different group they would do better. The "Gang" is however just so in your face that the quality of the paint job can't be denied. I would like to have seen the 40k guys closer without the "alien fellows" in the front more like Pils last entry. Pil your making me want to get out my “Beakies” and paint them. I will be running some non-pulp / Victorian / adventure types too later in the competition, gulp!

NIce layout with the Beasts, painting looks good too. The Western characters look very nice...detailed, shaded just right. Good luck to you both.
