The painting on both entries could have been neater but in  the end I liked the ruins picture better because the whole setting with the pillars and the actual sunlight looks so nicely idyllic  :-*

Each has a very nice mini on the far right side, which, if it were me, I would have placed on the far left side so as to get the impact with those who don't have the whole photo showing up at once due to screen resolution.

A tough call here, two nice entries.

It took a few seconds to observe that both entries were not painted by the same person :p

after that I saw how one entry looked more drybrushed, while the other one is highlited with (sometimes somewhat overdone) broad strokes.

Funnily, for me it feels like "Jeffrey's Gumshoe Team" could use better highliting, while the"Meeting in the ruins" could be shaded a bit better...

Still two nice entries and a tough call. In the end, I went for the ruins since I like overall setup a bit more.
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Well I thought I did, they started off as alluminium discs, so brown was used,

help what else can I do  lol

I think that this entry is a progression.

I found painting the figures quite difficult and perhaps I could have done better actually since the mounted cossacks i have struggled to be as good as that.

But the basing was better

the photo set up was better although it seems more from above than i would have liked to be honest.

and the flukey sun coming in through the ruins made me quite chuffed. If only it were more in focus  ::)

Sadly unless my eye clears up quicker there is no hope of a change in round 4 I will just have to wait and see.

even though I'm currently losing 3 to 1 on the voting it feels closer than that. Thanks to you guys for the positive comments  :D

Another well matched couple! They look alike a lot. I gave my vote to Dodge; the bases look better, I like the lighting more and I think the method of painting gives a smoother and nicer result.
