Yeah, I *think* (I've not paid much attention) 9th Age is written by (and for) tournament players mostly.
So it'll be all about balance and clarity and unambiguity and the other things that tournament players find essential.
And therefore not really very Warhammery from my point of view.  :D

8th edition is there as well, I just use the fluff for 3rd edition  lol
