North European Bronze Age Lion Rampant
«
on:

I have been itching to get my North European Bronze Age figures out for some time so when chum Chris offered to organise a Lion Rampant game I jumped at the chance to use these figures. Some tweaking required but the rules I think will work reasonably well.
Write up and pictures on the blog.

Great AAR and lovely miniatures. I have had my eyes out for those for some years and had promised my self to get them at this years Tactica (luckyly Foundry han'nt brought them, so I dodged another pile of unpainted lead
).
I would use them as allies for med Trojans. With all the amber flowing south, some northern warriors would be bound to flow with it.
There has been made rule for Chariot Rampant i Wargames Soldiers and Strategy. You can read about our project on the link below. Unfortunately our thread got smashed when Photobucket shut down, but Dr. Zombie has been trying to save some of it and some of the old pictures are somehow back now.

Thanks Erik, had a look at that, what were the main things you changed?

Its actually mostly the boasts that change and then ofcourse the rules for chariots. As I recal we used two pr. unit with three hits pr. chariot. There are also some sample retinues, but I think we managed without, and instead made our own from game to game. Its one of the things a really like about LR. The rules are very flexible and makes scenriobuilding easy. Both the boasting system and the small specialrules to each unittype.
The article is still good for inspiration. ITs issue 82.
Cheers

Thanks Erik, I will keep an eye out for that. We used 2 chariots and two horse mounted figures so we had six points for casualty removal but was similar to your description other than that. Chris made up some boasts specific to Bronze age which really added some flavour. I do think these will work very well.

What a great looking game! Great terrain pieces and figures. I really like the one with the relief of the "horned guy". Is this homemade?

Thanks for the feedback friends. It is pretty much my favourite collection, despite only be a small one.
The Horned God and a couple of the other pieces are commercially available from Monolith Designs, my personal favourite is the earth mother a lovely model. You can just about make her out in the larger shots, she is at the near end of the table, I can always add a picture if your interested, this is also a Monolith model.

Share those boasts if you get the chance too, please! I use LR for my Trojan War games, and a longer list of appropriate boasts would be most welcome.
Inspirational stuff! Thank you
