Partizan, Newark Notts. 24th May - so whos going then?
« on: 14 May 2009, 09:41:20 AM »
Sunday 24th May in the delightfully architectural Kelham Hall near Newark. Famed for the free figures on entry (anybody know what it is going to be?), good selection of games and traders. I will be popping in at some point to collect a pre-order and probably a few other bits too so who am I likely to bump into?

And come on Orctrader its only a short sprint down the A46 :D

I'll be there, more than likely hovering around the Great War, Spanish Civil War and British Civil War games.

Hoping that two of us can make it - but Alasdair is going away for a week of sailing with the school naval cadets (off to Faslain base that morning) and we will need to drop him at school in the morning.

Hmmm, Need to convince Mrs Malamute that we need to go and stay with her parents in Leicester for the weekend, then its a quick dash from there sunday morning. I'll see what I can do. It would be good to catch up with a few of the familiar faces and meet some new ones. :)

Tel me about it, I have spent quite a few years travelling up to the in laws in sunny Oadby and I still don't understand the language, let alone the arctic climate...

Just checked with Mrs M and we have a prior engagement this saturday which will prevent us driving up... Which is a nusiance as she normally wouldn't hesitate at the option to return to her birthplace  :(

Oadby? Just over the border from me.  ;)

I'll be there on Sunday, meeting a few guys from the Steve Dean forum at midday, so I'll be around.

Knowing the May Partizan I'll be easy to spot. I'll be the soaking wet biker with a dodgy 'tache.  :'(

Seemed to be upto the usual standard. I just did a slow once around and then headed for home - maybe an hour at most. Wife/Bank Holiday/Family pressure and all that.

The free figure was a Bonnie so it will probably be Clyde at the next one? A few nice games caught my eye but I didnt take the camera. There was a wonderful tracked vehicle on the HLBS stand for £25.00 which I would have loved but couldn't afford but really the true magic of shows has gone for me in that you have already seen most things on the intraweb and cannot make discoveries like in days gone by. Obviously not a complaint exclusive to Partizan. Had a good look at the Grand Manner stand and got tempted and there was another resin building company, PWS?, with decent stuff at almost give away prices. I picked up a card but put it down again as there was no website! Philestines I say.

Purchases for me ran to some Anglian Italians and askaris :) which I had pre-ordered and a tank which is just to replace one I sold recently that has been lost in the post :-[

I am sure others can give a more detailed and interesting report
