Newly painted Galloping Mohawks

So the Galloping Major (www.gallopingmajorwargames.com) asked me to paint a couple of their new Mohawk F&IW range, for a size comparison with Redoubt (I have about 60 of the Redoubt woodland indians...)

So, here are the comparison shots, and a few 'studies'...

The Redoubt figures are on the outside, the Galloping Major figures are the two in the middle.

As you can see, size-wise, there's not much to choose between them

That I am, although I have been forced to put it, and the LPLS3, on hold for family reasons. I am looking forward to getting it done and the planning thereof keeps ones mind on more pleasant things.

brilliant, i have some conquest F&IW Indians to be painted up right now but i have been putting them off because of the skin tones. i hope to paint them like red Indians, stereotypical cowboys and Indians style for my old west games.
is the war paint just 2-3 layers pf blue highlighted? and if so which colors or is it just one color with white added.??

Yep. Just one shade of blue with a little black mixed in for the base coat, then the 'pure' colour, then with a bit of white mixed in, and then probably with a bit more white mixed in for the really raised areas like knuckles, nose, etc...

hey the painting work is terrific as the scenario terrain, best compliments , I love them

but just to give you a little advice for future work,
the face and body colour most common were red or black, of course blue is documented, but less used.
most shirt were white, or better dirty white with red on shoulder and red spot all over.

the leggins of the Galloping Major seems to have front flaps more common from 1750 on, previosuly only side flaps. I like the figures but dislike such particular.
