So nice paint jobs Painterman, and in the first picture, it adds so much to the effect when you do a proper base and little detail additions, it really brings the buildings alive. I have to try something like that too. Is that Renendra wattle fencing in the pigsty?

Simon, what paint colours did you use for thatch? This is one of the areas I am most having an issue with. I want my thatch to be worn rather than 'new'.

The thatch was over a black undercoat and is a dark umber (vallejo I think) dry brushed a couple of coats.
then some flesh tone added to the dark umber to just catch the edges in an upward dry brush, from bottom to top and along the ridge.
Hope that helps, I used a house near me as my reference, which has aged thatching. I must admit that so many folk seem to go for a thatch finish which seems to be the day after the roof has been put on!!

Sold now in USA by Vatican Enterprises.
Ben is good to deal with, but you’re likely to get stung for customs duty on imports from USA.
Someone has got Some UK. stock but yet to get them ready for sale - so watch this space.

Very, very tempted by these myself, think they would go well as a farm in the Pale for my Elizabethan Ireland project, a nice target for Irish raiders.

Both sets are truely wonderful and have inspired me to purchase some Hudson & Allen buildings from the USA.  Where did you source the extras (bench, ropes, barrel and tree from in the first set?

I contacted him a few weeks back - seems he has received stock and was getting them added to a website...still know no more I'm afraid.
But I'm ready to buy...
