Over the bank holiday weekend our club played its big D-Day game. The rules used were Rapid Fire and the miniatures 20mm (1/72, 1/76). Apart from the plain flat terrain boards everything else is one member’s collection.
The game resulted in a German win this time, very poor morale dice by the British airborne troops.

Here are a few pictures of the areas I was involved with and links at the end to loads more, plus a few videos.

This day has particular relevance to my family.

My father was serving as a Radar Operator on HMS Kempenfelt off Juno Beach while, completely unknown to him, his brother was part of the Airborne forces landing in support of the captured Orne bridges.

Sadly, they would never meet again. My father's brother was killed in August 1944. He was only 22.
Enjoying the game is ALWAYS more important than winning the game.

Stunning :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
I don't think I have ever seen a better table that covers so many of the important battles on one(two) tables
I would love to know how many figures, vehicles ships etc were used in this stunning game?

Of course they had low morale... you forgot to provide any tea!
