Experimenting a bit with more styles of buildings.
Trying again with the favelas, this time the hardest part is making it easy to paint - so i directly painted the first and second print attempts.

The latter was good enough to deserve a photoshoot.
Here's before adding plaster between the bricks:

...and here later:

Opinions?

Lovely stuff, as usual.
What would it look like, I wonder,
 if painted as Adobe bricks?

Looks good, but I'm tempted to wonder what it might look like if the plaster were slightly tinted to cut down on the white glare. You could go for a very light grey to emulate ordinary mortar, or add a hair of brown if you want a dirtier look (or something in between).

I wouldn't darken it very much of course, just enough to "take the edge off".

At the same time, I'm wondering if maybe the exaggerated contrast works very well on the table and is just overstated by the photos.

Well, you can always experiment to see what you like!  :D

Thank you all! =)

Yeah - more experiments are due, and i think i should consider getting a less saturated red tone to begin with. Grey concrete powder would work well instead of the white plaste one as well, so it's definitely worth experimenting more.
Meanwhile, I'll have to start making some more significative shapes for the buildings as well, possibly mixing the designs with corrugated iron roofs and some of the other detailing elements of the shanties.

Ah, and of course more work on the Enlisted army is due!

Cheers,
Jack

After that, i've gotta work on the tanks to finish the range, plus a big behemot possibly, mostly for wow factor.

Those buildings look interesting, Jack. They could also be designed to be clip on so as that you can build them as high as you need or even across to create wider ones or bridge like buildings.

Those mechs look good also.

The main problem with clips is that the "under" parts of prints tends to be blurred, and proper sockets are always a bit complicated to do. We're planning for high-rise buildings, but for individual concrete pillars it would be a bit too difficult!

Regarding the robots, here is a better render for now, a couple more test-prints to do and they're green light!

...aaaand printed and painted some! The meshes need some extra work (it's gonna be painful!) but it's not noticeable in terms of prints. Here's what I have so far:

At the end they turned out MASSIVE, slightly larger than a Zeno!

Now --- off to remesh them, and to make a "captain" one with a big badass knife!

Cheers

For anyone interested, I put a fancier introduction to FSD on my site:

https://thelazyforger.com/full-spectrum-dominance/

Most of the images and text are the same of the intro chapter of the manual, but it's easier to read from phone this way!

Works continue, i have finished the light vehicles. Four turret options (more will follow for the heavy vehicles, not sure if i'll keep the same socket though!) and two chassis. Right now i have the light support vehicle and two transport versions. The large chassis will also do for the mobile artillery, with a fair variation of extra turrets for that!

More variants are due soon, but I'd start painting some of these for my troops for sure!

Lovely work Sngu,
They'll be great printed out.
Instead of a socket you could make space for a magnet ( that is what I do at least )

Thanks for sharing
