Thanks for the compliment Gribb, that motivates me. For the pants I use different shades of gray. As basis German gray or neutral gray, as second step mixed with dark sea gray. the tunic is always based German field gray. For the highlights i use different typs of gray.
These miniatures were also in the box for a very long time. But actually i read a book
August 1914 from Barbara Tuchmann. And that inspired me.
Thanks for the information. I found it difficult to do the field grey, and eventually opted for the painting kit from AK interactive. It was helpful for me with 3 bottles(base, shadow, highlight).
Out of curiosity, how long do you spend painting the figures?
I haven't read that one, but will keep an eye out for it. Ordered "Lost Opportunity: The Battle of the Ardennes, 22 August 1914 Simon J House". Seen good reviews for it.
