Some WW1 Stuff

Thanks for the compliment Gribb, that motivates me. For the pants I use different shades of gray. As basis German gray or neutral gray, as second step mixed with dark sea gray. the tunic is always based German field gray. For the highlights i use different typs of gray.
These miniatures were also in the box for a very long time. But actually i read a book
August 1914 from Barbara Tuchmann. And that inspired me.

Thanks for the information. I found it difficult to do the field grey, and eventually opted for the painting kit from AK interactive. It was helpful for me with 3 bottles(base, shadow, highlight).
Out of curiosity, how long do you spend painting the figures?
I haven't read that one, but will keep an eye out for it. Ordered "Lost Opportunity: The Battle of the Ardennes, 22 August 1914  Simon J House". Seen good reviews for it.

I am glad to hear that . I need several hours for a figure. How long exactly can not I say. I have no experience with the AK Interactive colors. I'm curious what your opinion is.
Since I also want to paint British, I'm looking for useful colors. Actualy i use VMC and GW Colors.

Having tried the set for ww1 Germans I think they provide a efficient and correct shade of painting that looks right for the period. I spent much time before that mixing colors to get the right look. They do have a set for the British uniform as well, and I think its worth a shot.

Any plans to paint the Granatenwerfer 16?  It's my favorite weapon. Here's mine.

Thank´s very much gentlemen. The next in my plan is the FK 77 fieldgun or the machinegun 08 with crew. It is not clear. I saw that empress has new Freicorps in the sortiment. But ... i stay hard . The Granatwerfer 16 is really interesting but i would painting first the early war miniatures.  French infantry with their rouge pantalons and the shiny dragoons are on my list too.
