Old Genestealer Cult Army pics
« on: May 28, 2009, 04:11:02 AM »
If anyone is interested:

http://doctormerkury.blogspot.com/

The pics are pretty old, not that great, but I did have a lot of unique figs for what was one of the coolest 40k armies IMOHO.

Enjoy!

Very cool. I like the Genestealer Cult army too. You can approximate the Cult with the adversaries from the Witch Hunters codex, which is what I plan. Apostate Cardinal for the Magus, mutants for hybrids and traitors for brood brothers. I'm going to use it with a Tyranid army, but only using Genestealers and the Broodlord as the Patriarch.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Lovely stuff!
I have to agree on the "coolest army" assessment.  :D

YEah, I mounted my magus on a 40mm base and use him as a zoanthrope, with my brood brothers as gaunts. Actually I have a really wierd genestealer cult force with loads of stealer dressed in rags.

The images are my whole army. Several scratch built carnifexes and loads of wings and milliput bits.

I agree, and I duly regret not getting some of my own.

Wow, those're some colours, Curtis! :o :-*

Those are some very 'flowery' Nyds Curtis, and the camoflague makes them very difficult to disguise what is what - so pretty effective disruptive scheme. I especially like the 'Chuthulu-nex', very cool.

My brother had a genestealer cult army, back in the Rogue Trader days, when the game wasn't as restrictive as it is now and tournament play hadn't ruined it. I think he still has the models lying around, I think I'll have to chase him up on that.

The colour scheme is drawn from nature:shoals of fish and lizards. Actually, I only uses

yellow, red, orange, dark green, mid green and grey, plus a few flecks of metal and white details, and some brown here and there, so really its a totally restricted pallette.

A whole army done with 9 paints.
