Looking for a good camo-painting technique
« on: May 28, 2009, 04:56:17 AM »
Like the title says, I'm in search of a good technique for painting camouflage uniforms in 25mm, specifically the modern US Army wilderness (as opposed to jungle or desert, I guess) pattern. I'm not a stickler for super-accuracy since I'm an RPG guy rather than a wargamer, but I'd like it to look reasonably like the real thing. Any suggestions?

The funny thing is that I used to be pretty decent at camo, but I've somehow lost the knack completely since I came back to the hobby after a few years away. I have a hard time getting the different colors to look small and random enough. My guys keep ending up looking like the losers at some kind of paintball throwdown. :)

I suck at painting camo so I don't often bother. I would suggest you look at the Flames of War site they have a number of articles that may be of use.

We must use similar techniques   lol

Here's a decent tutorial on German SS "Peadot" camo:

Which might help with other designs.
