I have been in this hobby for 20 years and still cannot get those smooth, opaque layers like you have here. How do you do it?

Cant have Volkssturm without some opposition...

Back to speed painting Soviet infantry using a triad system to speed things up. While not entirely happy with the colours on this batch, I will complete this section in these colours. I think as I have so many Russians to do, the triad method, if I can find colours that work for me will save a lot of time. All that said, I have noticed that the colours do look a lot different when used on the tabletop and seen from a distance... so that's something I have to consider.

We spend so long painting with regards oddly close up photography, we can be in danger of forgetting to aim the painting at what they will look like actually in their proper use!

Agree - and the balance is achieved by spending more time on command miniatures and other "centrepieces".

Assuming the Vomag is the Roden Kit? I have one of those in the stash, but these days I am playing mainly in 28 and 15. Very nice work.
