Martian Tripod is finished!
« on: May 28, 2009, 02:18:12 PM »
Hello all,
A little while back I showed a sneak peak of my model of a Martian tripod. I can now announce that the model is finished and should be available from Eureka Miniatures in about a week. It is being launched at Little Wars this Sunday in Melbourne.

See some pictures of the finished Tripod here.

Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Only when they're dying, though...

It is a great model, although not really how I see the Martians. Will the legs and tentacles be available separately?
I told you so. You damned fools.

The price of the Tripod should be around $100 Australian Dollars plus postage. You should be able to buy extra tentacles. I am working on some Martians now to be included in the range.

If the Tripod proves popular, then future releases would include The black smoke launcher, crashed cylinder, The "handling machine", and the flying machine that is mentioned briefly at the end of the book plus terrified Edwardian civilians.

The Brit infantry on the blog are Eureka 28mm Pax limpopo to give you an idea of the size of the Tripod. It stands about 35cm high.

Cheers
Fuzzy. :)

*Kikoskia Yay!*

Will the crashed cylinder be open or closed, you think?

Eureka will most likely sell components seperately as well to allow for conversion/scratchbuilding.

If I do the cylinder, it will come with a screw top so it can be done open or closed.

Right now I am sculpting the martians which should be finished in a couple of weeks.

Cheers
Fuzzy.
