More Empress goodness on the way...
« on: May 29, 2009, 09:15:41 AM »
I've just been looking at Empress Miniatures' site and they are working on Natal Police figures :o :D

http://www.empressminiatures.com/page3.htm

The horse is absoultely superb! One of the (if not the) best horse sculpts I've ever seen  :-*

Plans apparently include four variants in each unit, including both mounted and dismounted along with horse-holders, officers etc.

There's also a Col Durnford on the way as well as far too many others to mention here

Outstanding!

Happy first birthday, Empress ;D

Superb, and yes that is a lovely horse ;)
I think the NMP and The Natal Carbineers are amongst my favourite looking colonial cavalry units.

I have to agree. The Osprey (name forgotten   >:( ) about the Zulu War irregular units is a great source of inspiration for all these units. If Empress can manage to model them all, I for one will be a very happy bunny!

They will also be very useful for fictional Darkest Africa campaigns, of course  ;D

Guys that book is currently out of print and so very difficult to track down. However if you look at the usual places such as Ebay you can still find it. Well worth getting a copy  ;) Also nag Osprey to re release it - we have been :)

?Why would Osprey reprint 'Zulu War Volunteers - - - " when you can still buy brand new copies for under $10?

Oh dear.  :o

Those are entirely too nice.

I think I need to get a second job.
