I found a good way to make an inexpensive base that has the look and feel of a sidewalk or concrete road is to glue a bit of small grit sandpaper to a washer then glue the model to that.  Black or dark grey undercoat and then a little bit of a lighter grey drybrush and it looks fine.

Nice models, I like the truck a lot.

based two more this after noon, the boy with the slingshot and a police man. and i painted an old west Mexican who coincidentally is the EXACT same conversion as Duhamels on another thread, that's the reason i painted him it kinda freaked me out.

Here is the cop, almost insultingly bad pictures and just to say, to get ANY decent degree of shading from the GW matt washes, DO NOT expect it to come out matt. this guy was glistening before i put his matt varnish on.




i also painted the boy with the slingshot but he doesn't photograph at all, i will wait for the strom to pass and take some of them in the sun maybe.

Born an bred in lower east Manhattan Francesco Malorie Russel  other wise known as "Frankie" is no stranger to the streets.
