Mountaineers, yetis, Shangri-La and so on

I have just placed a suggestion in the Eureka Miniatures site's 100 club (http://www.eurekamin.com.au)

I would like some 28mm figures in mountain climbing gear from 1900-1945. Woollen clothes, big goggles, hemp rope, huge ice axes and so on. You don't actually need them in the cat of climbing but they would be sculpted as if on ledges, base camps and summits. Maybe old large format cameras and so on. They can do double duty as Polar explorers.

And let's face it, you need a thumping great climbing axe when a yeti appears in front of you.

Please show an interest in this small project as I have not seen anything much in this line other than a few unsatisfying Polar sets.

Do we know if the the line of minis (some great stuff btw) will be making an appearance from Copplestone then?  I did not have the funds to purchase what I wanted from the only HLBS source I knew of (RLBPS in Indiana, USA) befoer the demise of the line.

when we discussed a bit with Bob Murch on TMP he said that he is planning a pack of Sherpas. Of course is not yet realised
BTW in Polar settings it is supposed that there were not Sherpas -or very few of them- in reality. Gaming is different.

Ah my dear Argsilverson, the intent is for mountaineering figures that can also do yeoman service in polar region adventures.

The period in which I'm interested showed very little distinction in its equipment, more in its arrangement.

The sherpas are definitely for the mountaineering side of things.

Although you raise an intriguing possibility of an ascent of a more vertical Mt Erebus with a "proper" party.
