Martian invaders from Pegasus Hobbies
« on: June 05, 2009, 03:44:46 AM »
Hi all

Long time reader first time poster.

Not certain if anyone else has mentioned this on this site, but I see that Pegasus Hobbies is selling the 1953 movie version of the Martian 'tripod'. It appears to be in 1/48 scale. I have not seen it in the flesh, so to speak, has anyone else?

They also have a cool Apollo like 1/72 space ship that looks very pulp like. It could very easily be converted into a number of things, or used for its parts.

I am more of a VSF fan, but thought these items might be better suited to future wars.

I have the Martian on my shelf - I absolutely love that version of the story, and that design of spacecraft is freaking awesome for me...

Quick comparison shot with a Pulp Figures Rocket Corps and an old school GW Imperial Guard I yanked off the shelf. It is 1/72, actually.

Pegasus hobbies say it's 1/48, and there's a 1/144 diorama version as well. Would love to get hold of 3 of the 1/48 machines, funds permitting.
Waiter, my soup is giggling.
