Thanks everyone for all the kind words.

I'm just finishing up another half-timbered house (kitbashed from Tabletop Basement) and planning on a new boat project, not sure if it's more a cog or a carrack. Here is what I plan to build next:

Getting the hull right (as a waterline model) will be the hard part, but with a foam core and balsa bent to shape, it should be possible.

Can anyone suggest a better glue than standard PVA, something that won't eat at the foam?

Wow! That's a really neat keelboat. Hard to believe it's your first attempt.  :)

Depending where you live, UHU Por is made for foam. Don't use UHU Hart!
I have made some Mantua and Artesania wooden boats; for scratchbuild I bought small wooden planks in specialized shops because balsa is hard to shape and break easily when bent. Your work is awesome!

Here's a site (in french) with plenty of tutorials - they make museum quality models - but I used their tutorial for tabletop models. http://gabierschimeriques.free.fr/modelisme/Ficelles.htm

Best regards
