The Chaos forces returned, but this time were met with Ogre flesh.

After quite a gap more Warhammer graced the Soldier Shack
Dwarfs took on Warriors of Chaos

No longer Orctober, but who cares - time for some hardcore Orc on Orc action as Stephen returns to the Sherwood Soldier Shack

Always a pleasure to see painted warhammer armies fight it off on the tabletop.

8th edition I assume, right?

How do you like the archer orcs? I've never seen them used, and all the people I knew that bought them (used from the starter set) did so solely to convert them to orcs with choppas.

Thank you - we do try and play with painted armies most of the time.

Correct  - greatest of all the editions (Your Warhammer May Vary) :)

They're rubbish.
On the other hand they are still a unit of Orcs, so most core troops will find them a handful if they let them charge in a block.
As missile troops they're hopeless. But they're a colourful part of the army list and to me that's a lot more important than whether or not they're any *good*
Plus TBH painting them as Arrer Boys is a lot less tedious than trying to convert them - what with them all having quivers stuck on them.

I agree with this, I've always found it to be the most interactive edition of the game; I might lose even more often than in previous games, but at least I always get to do attack back or even charge sometimes.

no argument from there, I also have favourite units that underperform but I just can't get to leave behind (looking at you, dwarf bolt thrower).
