These battles look great! Thanks for sharing!

We also played WFB 8th edition for many years, but got impatient waiting for the Old World and went off and made our own rules (mostly a Frankenstein's monster of rule bits from various systems and a continuous work in progress). If it's not too off topic, how do you find "The Old World" after having played it for almost a year or so? How do you compare it to other editions or other games you've played?

Thanks!
I have a YouTube and so can you!

I find it to be unnecessarily fussy TBH. It's got a load of extra rules around the combat resolution that add absolutely nothing but brain ache to the game. I can see what they're trying to do with the "exploding 6" mechanics on wounds and so on, but it's all just faff as far as I'm concerned. The mixed weapons stuff is micro managing on a whole new scale. And the new base sizes are an annoyance too.

But I like the fact that the armies are all set and the new Arcane Journals just give you new ways to play, not whole new army list power creep.

It's Warhammer though, and I've loved Warhammer for well over 30 years now, so what're you going to do? *shrug*

Another three player game.
This time my Dwarfs took on a combined army of Chaos Warriors and Beastmen.

In next to no time huge Gribblies were all up inside my business.

But the Dwarf King's bodyguard were soon handing it out in return.

Another two v. one game as the Wolves of the Sea take on a combined force of Orcs and Chaos Warriors

Bumble Bee Lad was hoping to bring the pain.

Werewolves!
There wolves!

Blood and ichor soon covered the ground

The final game of our weekend in the Island of Manly Men was a three player Triumoh and Treachery game.
Although T&T was written for the last version of the rules you can make most of it work just fine.

Rival Chaos factions went at it, toe to...errr...cloven foot?

The Dwarfs wisely protected their flanks as the ruinous powers squared off

However the Big Bad Bloodthirster was hungry for stunty blood:

A Christmas game saw a possible Gob-Off turn in to Goblins fighting Chaos Warriors

Gribbly spiders decided to charge a Chariot

Squiggly Beasts got stuck in

And big flying Daemons cut down droves of Night Goblins

Thanks for the report. Did the fanatics with their whirly business actually kill someone?

At last - a Gob Off!

I had green spiders (and blue 'uns too!)

We wasted no time getting stuck in

Who brings Trolls to a Gob Off?

A return to the Sherwood Soldier Shack for Stephen and his Beastmen - visiting from the 1950s.

He'd come with a tournament fresh Beastman army

Soon green met brown and blood (red, probably) began to flow

Could "Big Algernon" make a difference?

One game finished, we re-set, added an extra player and had a game of Triumph and Treachery

The Night Goblins were out in force

But had some Beastmen to deal with

Greensking infighting soon broke out
