Nice work on those machine guns.

I assume that 3/4 ton truck is 1/56, how does it look against the figures and 1/50 scale vehicles?

It's Warlord, so I think it's 1/56. I've 'jacked' up the back wheels a bit. Here it is with an Empress mini.

M101 for the reasons you mention.

Oh come on, let’s have the L5 pack howitzer as well. Works for Australians in Vietnam and Argentines in the Falklands.

Ash,

If you ever fancy a bigger version of that truck, Solido do a really nice 1/50 one. I’ve cut one up and modded it to look more like a Vietnam era M37 with plasticard and aluminium sheet rear mudguards. Just need to add a bumper bar and winch. It's a relatively easy conversion as the cab and the chassis unscrew from the cargo bed, which is the bit that needs replacing, so no hack saws required.

That said, I like what you have done with the Warlord version.

Still a bit of work to go (one of those on again off again jobbies) but this gives you an idea of what you can do with the baseline model.

@ Carlos:  That's looking nice.

On mine I need to take the vents off the bonet, make a stering wheel, raise the body higher on the front wheels, build out the rear wheel arches, build up the rearsides of the bakkie...

International Trucks, of which, I believe one is in the works.  They were, on occasion, placed inside M113s when establishing new FSBs as an operational security measure. They could be towed by a Land Rover but that wasn’t a standard practice in Australian Army use. The main method of deployment in Vietnam was by chopper and that’s where they came into their own. The Yanks were green with envy because it was the only available gun that could be lifted by a Huey.
