Well done Peter - plenty there for a skirmish game - that is some foot print you have produced - on a smaller playing area you won't see much cloth :-) - excellent stuff.

Ta Gregor.  By the way, don't forget to reply about your next visit. :)

Here be Dragon!

Another thing that had been on the shelves of shame.
It needed repair (it was in bits), a tart up & rebasing.

Latest additions to my Tudors.

Both are for the English.
The 'mighty' cannon which will terrorize those pesky Irish, well it will
just as soon as the officer has read the instruction book. lol

Gentlemen Pensioners. Their mounts are from a company called Vulcan.
I have no idea if they are still in production, but they have been in the
Lead Mountain for some forty years (at least). The big selling point was
that the horse armour was separate (front & two back sections). The
idea being that you could have a great deal of variety in your Gendarme
units. In reality it is just a mess of bits that hardly fir at all. An awful lot
of filling & filing was needed for these. Good job I only had four to do.

I'm living that cannon, where is it from?
You did a great job with the horsemen too.

I always like seeing old miniatures brought to life

Thanks Luigi.
The cannon is a cobbled together thing.
The main chassis was from a 50p bargain box.
The wheels from my spares box.
The removable barrel section from inside a broken biro.
Crew from the Lead Mountain.
Cannon balls from inside some electrical switches &
the rest of the clutter from one of my boxes of bits.

syrinx0, I was around has.been's place Monday and he has doubled up on his output this week, there are some amazing bits coming soon. That base of Gendarmes is incredibly heavy. The dragon is especially nice too.
Seeing Peter's junk modelling ALMOST inspired me to get some of mine done.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :

And to back up what James (Vodkafan) said...
What was a bashed about (part resin, part scratch built) ACW/Miners' camp.
These had been hiding away in a big box in the shed.
Almost all the old scratch-building had to go or be repaired. It hadn't been
done by me, so none of my usual anguish about parting with old work.
As the old bases were (now mouldy) thick cardboard, everything had to be
chiseled off them & firmly fixed to new MDF bases.
Some more clutter was added (got to give the players some cover to hide behind)
The usual paint tart up & flocking followed, oh and several coats of spray varnish.

NOW...ready for use on the Wargames table.

Very nice.

Not sure I would want to visit Jake's in the dark at all despite my son being a Jake! Worried if it's a bar or dentist...

Really old English slang for a bathroom would be the jakes or jacks.
