A Rather Large Engagement
« on: 30 June 2009, 09:25:50 PM »
A 2mm Land Ironclads battle. The British face off against the Prussians in the oddly brown countryside of, oh, lets say, Belgium.

A draw, with both sides taking a pounding.
Figures are either scratchbuilt or from Brigade models, Irregular Miniatures and a couple of others. The really big gun is one of Tobsen's models.
Any questions, don't hesistate to ask.

The place looks a good deal like Malta - more specifically, what I usually use as a games table...  ;)
Are the models in the 3rd pic from the end armoured railcars, and if so, from which range are they?
Looks grand  8) 8)

They are indeed, quite a few of the Ironclads are. I *think* they're Navwar, but wait untill 'Mr.Marx' comes along to confirm this.

So who won?

'Twas a draw, as we wanted to get two games in that day and ran out of time. The general aim was for the British to defend the large gun, which they did. However, the game could have gone either way, as there was a large Prussian cavalry group very close to attacking the gun as we finished.

I think that to acctualy play this game out properly, as in with all the 'stuff', we are going to need a few more players on each side.

Bravo chaps!
Love it all, but the mega railgun in particular - looks like it could launch projectiles to the Moon!  lol

Nice use of armoured cars and what looks like a 1/300th Ferdinard. I have one of those armoured trains and I'm sure they are Navwar WW2 Polish ones.

Cheers
