PeteW's Hue 1968 USMC Platoon
« on: September 22, 2019, 12:01:24 PM »

I'm slowly working my way through some 30 odd Hue '68 figures, most being Empress Miniatures, but with a selection of Gringo40's as well.

I'll build on this thread as I progress.

Ewan - I must admit the Big Mac figure is cracking and one of my favourite poses. Dynamic and of the moment. Great  sculpting that such animation can be created in 28mm

Great stuff.

It is a fun idea to paint the towel on Johnny as a confederate flag.

Love the basing! We've come a long way from goblin green sand bases, haven't we?  :D

So the Empress and Gringo figures match up well?

Nope (in my opinion) - when I’ve compared Gringo are larger (circa 4-5mm depending on the figure). Some of that may be figure style (Gringo’s have a chunkier look that some may prefer though I’ve opted for Paul Hicks’ style)  but I find the differences noticeable. It depends, I suppose, what sort of style suits you etc. Neither are bad ranges.

Hope this helps.
edited to remove the over use of the word “prefer”.. well it is a Friday night and it’s been a long week!

I think the size differential is a bit too much, but I know others that disagree

Should have said - love the painting on these (and the basing!).
