Lucid Eye 'Maxzans' - mesoamericans - painted
« on: December 16, 2019, 09:59:45 PM »
Here are my Mesoamericans from the final round of the Lead Painters League - they are Lucid Eye 'Maxzans' (a kind of slightly fantasized Aztecs I guess) from the increasingly brilliant Steve Saleh.

That said, they have so much detail they were fiddly as f**k to paint, and took me a very long time - like three weeks. I then had to rush the photo, so honestly wasn't that happy with it. Anyway, here they are in all their close-up glory... They are gorgeous figures.

If the Aztecs had looked that good, they would never have been conquered.

Another superb effort, Richard!

Those look rather nice indeed. I feel the need for another Lost World tribe gathering momentum... I have to watch out or I'll end up with a Savage Empire and no place left to store it.

Very nicely painted. very pretty. I'm not surprised they lost - having to balance all that stuff on their heads.

Maybe they were too busy fighting off love-crazed parrot ladies going wild over all that plumage.

The more I see them, the more I like them.

Thanks guys :)

There are a couple of other priestly types in the range, under the 'Temple of the Golden Heart' imprimatur  ;)

Chris, I think you really need some for your Lost World setting - it's very much what they're intended for as far as I can tell (given that there are also various very nice Lost World adventurer types in the range). It's nearly Christmas. Give into temptation  :D
