Ram Kangaroo

This Marco Bergman's 1:100 scale Ram Kangaroo APC, printed on my Ender 3, and painted up for the early part of the Italian campaign. I added some detail to the track edges, but I neglected to add any track guides before charging ahead and printing it.

The paint I used for the Light Mud camouflage colour came out much brighter and yellower in the photo than in real life, though even in real life it should probably be a bit darker and duller. Hey ho. In truth, I'm not sure that any Kangaroos would have been painted in disruptive camo, but they might have.

I do keep mentioning it to Rubicon for a resin/plastic hybrid kit in 1/56.

Turns out they weren't. There were some Sherman III conversions and defrocked Priests, but the Ram Kangaroo didn't come along until mid-late 1944, so they should just be painted in overall SCC 15 Olive Drab. Which I would have known if I'd done even a little bit of research before I charged in with my paintbrush

They do look good in camo, though

I agree with Vanlak, the camouflage looks good on them.

I think some Ram Hi-Speed Tractors (for 17pdrs) may have seen service in Italy.  They looked identical to the later Ram Kangaroo.  There was also at least one regiment equipped with them in Normandy.

Is it just me, or does the hull look a little off? Too flattened?

Yes they were.  It's been decades since I researched this, but I think they equipped the Corps AT Regts for the two Canadian Corps, as well as the AT Regt of 4th Armoured Division (though if memory serves, the II Canadian Corps AT Regt had received Crusader Tractors before embarking for Normandy).  I could be wrong about I Corps, but 4th Armoured Division definitely used them throughout the NW European Campaign - they were meant to re-equip but never quite managed it.
