Toss a coin to your witcher

Inspired by the show to dive back into the Witcher 3 I couldn't help but be inspired by the look and feel of the games, so I though why not throw together some models and document them here, no set project just a few fun models as they develop.

First up is a witcher who immediately became Vesemir as the pieces just came together.  He needs some potions and bombs about his person and trophy taking knife but I'm not sure what to use for these yet.

Vesemir readies himself as he prepares to search an abandoned outpost in the rocky foothills in western Aedirn. I apologise for the photo quality but it looks a little artistic I thought.

A witcher is nothing without monsters to hunt. Ever since I started Vesemir I was searching for inspiration for a monster for him to hunt. Reading through Knight Captain Tyr's spectacular Black order Thread he mentioned Leshens in his forest spirit post and immediately I knew what I could make from my bitz box.

Two dryads, some other miscellaneous bits and some greenstuff later I'm pretty happy with how sinister this Ancient Leshen looks. It's a pretty serious monster for his first adversary, but Vesemir is tough nut, I'm sure he'll be fine...

And may i ask you something: How did you make the fine roots on his chest and what is the skirt made of? Just GS?

Well this has been a long time since I was last in the Witcher space but the project has not died just waned. The Leshen was finished some time ago but life and not actually gaming in the Witcher world got in the way. I recently played the excellent Thronebreaker on steam which I would recommend anyone who is a fan of the universe. Queen Meve has inspired me to put together some models for a small Lyria and Rivia force starting with the Queen herself and I will perhaps do a few of the Emperors finest as well as dastardly foes for her.

Apologies I haven't been on forum much in the last year or so, and so hadn't seen your reply to the thread but will answer just in case you happen across this again. The roots/branches around his chest are made from a coarse scouring pad that has been cut up and teased apart and the skirt is just green stuff or similar rolled out and torn into shape to give the rough look at the bottom.

That looks absolutely phenomenal. I think you've inspired me to have a crack at my own version of this - thanks for the inspiration.

On another note, I'd love to see your take on a Thronebreaker-inspired force. It was a wonderful little game with some really nice artwork, and you seem to have nailed the 'gritty realism' style of the Witcher down. Hope you get the motivation again soon.
