That's quite cool. Different.

I have had discussions with Steve at Wessex Games about doing a range of Fantasy SYW miniatures, in the same vein as Flintloque. Just... well, earlier.

Plus I think he prefers Tricornes to Shako.

I had done some ideas once for a Superheroes games set in the Revolutionary War. If I can ever find the figures for the conversions I'd like to do up the Iron Patriot and his friends and enemies.

I think there is a lot of charm and some great possibilities in this time period.

Great idea and it would give a good excuse to buy some of those snazzy Hungarian irregulars, whose name I have embarrassingly forgotten  ::)

edit Grenzers? It came to me in a flash of inspiration. The brain cell must have rolled back into it's hole.

It would be an setting ideal for a Fear and Faith campaign :)

Great! I'm honestly sick and tired of Weird World War II so this is really a nice alternative setting without one side being exclusively all ghoulish. Plus it really fits into the time where enlightenment and superstition were "fighting for the minds" of the people. Cool stuff.

If you need more inspiration for WSYW then check out a few of the sites on;

http://emperor-elector.blogspot.com/

it's mostly straight C18th "imaginations" but with the odd flight of what would be considered sci-fi in the C18th.

I'd love to do an army backed by "leonardo's machines" - flyers and "tanks" etc.

The other advantage with this period is that the troops are so colourfull not that dull "mud" colour of the C20th.

I'm with Gluteus Maximus on the Grenzer idea, "Von Tegale's Dampfgrenzer Huzzaren" mounted in armoured steam wagons!
- not sure that german is correct!

The Hooded Claw - One idea for the base figures for your superhero games could be either the foundry C18th civilians range or the Perry's Carlist war range. If you're after a more military look then how about the plastics from Victrix, they have some early Nap french coiming up.
