I think the hounds and cloaks alone makes this a must have, even though I have no plans for DA Irish. It just looks like great sprues for the plastic mountain.

Nice blood spatter on the shield rim 

They don’t look too bad at all, although the detail looks maybe a bit soft? Compared say, to the most recent Victrix sets (I’ve just got my hands on the Saxons, which are really excellent). But perhaps that’s just the pics. Although I’ve noticed before that plastic moulding is not that great when it comes to rendering fur... it often comes out looking almost more like feathers. As on the wolfhounds here...

A lot of very useful parts there though, for sure. I will definitely be picking these bhoys up.

Where will it all end? Soon my house will be knee deep in Dark Ages and Medieval plastic kits

Your points are spot on. Considering it’s still
early days for Wargames Atlantic  I am sure they will improve over time.
In any case I’m glad we’re getting yet more plastics!

I must confess that 2 hounds to every six warriors seems a lot...

I've lightened the image a wee bit to try to bring out some of the details..... not all that successfully I might add... it's a little bit of an improvement.

Looks like you need seven dogs for a SAGA wolfhound unit, so that's probably what they're going for.

And if you are building for any other set, you're going to end up with hundreds of spare hounds. For example, a 350 point DBM army, or  TTS or MeG or Fog army is going to need at least 200+ infantry... that's 66 hounds that are no use whatsoever.  It would have been much better for them to be separate and the spruce to have included at least one armoured figure.

Depending on the quality of the fur, you could probably sell lots of those hounds to Saga players in sets of seven

I am looking forward to more Wargames Atlantics historical plastic sets. They will be very useful and look good. Hopefully they will reach Victrix levels soon. I recently assembled the Anglo-Saxons from Victrix and just primed 6 armoured Saxons for an entry for their painting competition. They look incredible. I love Claymore Castings and Footsore metals, but when you assemble the Victrix Saxons, prime them, than they look more realistic and beautiful than metal mini's. Quite impressive.
