How big are these??
« on: 19 July 2009, 06:14:44 PM »
http://www.miniature-giant.com/zulu-warriors-3-Reaper-sku-50083-pr-12034.html

My gut feeling tells me they're on the big side (look at the lipped bases).... But they'd be mighty fine as characters for some adventure gaming in the Victorian era.... if they fit with other minis...

These are new Reaper relases for their Chronoscope line. I don't have these but I due have some of the other Chronoscope figures and they look good against my Artizan Thrilling Tales figures. They will be a little taller than Foundry.

It has been my experience that the Chronoscope figures vary in size. I have some that fit nicely with smaller & average 28mm. But some are vey large and are bigger than some 32mm figure that I have seen.

They're bigger than Foundry, I'd say 30-32mm.

here Reaper's african princess to compare, she has similar scale.

I don't have many Chronoscope figures yet so i couldn't say. I can say that the Vicar is 28-29mm.

I read a review of the chronoscope Zombie Dog Handler, and he is VERY big, even towering over the Griffin zombies. Alas, no base shown on the pic....

yes, he's really big, 36mm I'd say, but the african boys are smaller.

Cor! She's rather magnificent....  :-*

Queen Ranavanola perhaps?

(Not sure about the outsized dungeons + dragons style sword though... )

Perhaps. But she looks too friendly :) the sword is definitely too big, more fantasy one.

The Madagascar queen? The one that features in one of the Flashman books?

I think she was described as rather short and stockish..? My memory may play tricks on me, though... long time since I read that particular one...

Even without the sword I'm not sure if she has the makings of a Ranavalona.

Ranavalona I (the one in "Flashman's Lady")

Ranavalona II

Ranavalona III

I think an Indian Princess figure would be more suitable than a Jungle Queen type. Or even a Queen Victoria figure for the last two!   :)

So maybe more in line with Black Tree Designs then, but slightly bigger than Empress?
