Hi all!

Zombiesmith have just launched the kickstarter for the 2nd edition rules of This Quar's War, along with a revamped 15mm miniature line covering 6 nations. This Quar's War is the large battle ruleset for playing games in Alwyd, a world inhabited by quar (anthropoid anteater-like creatures with roughly WWI tech), and covers conflicts as small as an infantry section (plus support weapons, 'tractors' [armor], and cavalry) on up to infantry company+.

For those already familiar with the quar, this release revisits three existing nations (Crusaders, Coftyr, and Fidwog), and introduces three new nations (Western Arnyara, Creevin, and Easky). New troops and tractors for everybody!

That is really cool, I might have to get a couple of those and use in my sci-fi setting!

Interesting stuff.  I have always had some interest in this setting/game and now looks like a good time to invest a bit.

 lol

I hear you! I love the 28mm minis for skirmishes, but between my wallet and my glacial painting I know I'll never get big enough armies for TQW, but I really love the character of these new 15s! I like all the tractors that would be harder to pull off in 28mm, too.

I'm surprised people like them so much in 15mm as opposed to 28mm.

I love their character and the details of their uniforms and equipment so I gravitated toward the larger minis.

I got the original 15mm Crusaders but they were too small to do anything with, for me, at least.

Then again, I'm a figure painter and not a game player so that's what I  look form  15mm may well make more sense for games.

Hey folks! Couple of noteworthy updates since the campaign launched:

New vehicles/contraptions, snipers, beast of burden, and elite unit stretch goals were unlocked:

Themed status markers:

Coftyran & Crusader trench raiders:

Also some painted minis from each faction:

And a side-by-side of the new Kickstarter 15s and the old hand-sculpted ones:

=============================================================================

Finally, a fun flavor addition to any physical pledge, a Crusader combat medal ("life-sized" and wearable!  :D ). Sounds like it will be cast in pewter with a pin back, and they plan to do a Quar-themed medal for subsequent Kickstarters too, as a kind of collector's item.

Fun times for Quar fans! For fellow fluff-junkies, there are also a few excellent faction focus updates on one of the new nations, Easky, and two familiar nations, Coftyr and Fidwog, up on the Kickstarter, that advance the Quar story a bit to get you up to speed on the lay of the land in this particular theatre of the war. I assume the remaining 3 factions will get similar updates in the coming days.

Cheers!
