This week’s “lockdown” game - North West Frontier
« on: April 18, 2020, 03:17:40 PM »
Another weekend on lockdown (and this one would have been Salute!) so consoled myself with another lockdown game - figures are mainly Foundry plus some Perrys painted by Steve Hall of Hallmark, Matt Slade and myself plus some from the old collection of the “Silver Whistle” himself. Building are a combination of Adrians Walls plus the talents of Phil Taylor. (I’m now working on a long term project extending this into the Inter War Jazz Age and back to the Indian Mutiny).

Great looking figures and set up.
If I may ask, for the British, what is the unit
that is in an all blue uniform?

If it's these chaps you're referring to they are Afghan Regulars:

Love it! I like your idea to concentrate on the NW Frontier/India in the 19th to 20th century. I have tried to limit my collecting/gaming/terrain building to the BOB/China/Southeast Asia/Pulp in the 1920s for the last 10 years and it has allowed me to be more coherent (for me) in my gaming and to resist the "Oh, Shiney" moments and limit the Lead Mountain (but not according to my wife!)
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

Hi Marianas_Gamer. I love looking at your collection so your compliment is really appreciated! Thank you! I really wish I was as self disciplined as you think I am. Sadly I am still very vulnerable to “oh shiny” moments! I am trying to be harder on myself though as over the years I’ve been starting too many projects. I am using the time granted by the lock down to get out all that I have tucked away to a) remind myself all I need to do to finish these projects off and b) focus new ideas on the terrain I already have.

My 1919/30 stuff (including Bolshevik intervention force) is half finished so that’s become my 2020 project plus I have a wad (wadi?) of Sudan stuff to tidy up. Over the last few years I’ve amassed several shelf’s worth of Iron Duke Mutiny figures and I want those to be my 2021 project.

What getting all my “toys” out has reminded me is what a great hobby it is we have and to make better use of what I already have!!!(Not as easy as you might think as I regularly game with Paul from Empress and he is a very capable “pusher”!).

Eaglestone used to order me around a LOT,
but then he was my Col. in the Tower Hamlets Regiment of Foote
Things are quieter now, as a deserter from the SK.

Very pretty game by the way.

Wonderful set up.
Foundry figures do age rather well.
Great job painting them.
