The mad chippers tend to forget that a goodly portion of the working time spent by vehicle crews is spent on maintenance. That and the fact that a lot of vehicles don’t last long enough in combat to have been reduced to the half bare metal, heavily rusted hulks so beloved of the modelling and gaming world, at least not without a trip to the workshops. Tanks get filthy, paint gets abraded and discoloured by the climate and terrain but it’s rare to see the scrapyard challenge effect in all its glory.
