Dune 28mm miniatures
« on: 16 May 2020, 02:42:08 PM »
Hello
I m a fan of Dune (Frank Herbert) and my son would like to play in this universe. I can’t find 28mm miniatures. I believe that figures are no longer sold. Somebody knows who sells 28mm miniatures for Dune.
Thank you.

Neither Akula nor BOF sell their Dune inspired figures now (or at least not as of a couple of years back when I looked) so you will be in for a lot of converting or hunting on the resale market.

15mm is easier, Rebel make figures suitable for Fremen, Khurasan do suitable Harkonen with characters from MJ, vehicles from GZG or Khurasan, Worms from Irregular or D&D miniatures if you want rearing up types (big enough for gaming but not anything like the size of the book ones).
Quite a lot of choice if you hunt through teh various ranges, none of them actual Dune figures (unsurprisingly) but close enough to recognise what is on the table.

edit:   Forgot Atreides from GZG (sorry Jon!)

Akky's range was sold to another manufacturer several years ago. *Guessing* it will make a reappearance sometime

Worm...easy to scratch.

Fremen use gw van Saar plastics.  Suit is near perfect for still suit.

Harkonen - can’t remember the manufacturer....make suitable plastic troopers in great coats.   Easy conversions....Atlantic?

Quite certain the majority of the Akula Space project was sold to Hasslefree. I'm not holding my breath.

An awesome Baron Harkonnen-esque mini was previewed years ago and has never showed up for general sale (might have been a limited resin casting).  I've enquired about the 'not-Baron' figure and Akula Space Opera range once or twice, haven't heard back the last time I emailed.

It’s so pity. The Akula range are very beautiful.
I home that he will see this post.

There is always

Unfortunately the Baron is only available from Hasslefree "space clad" as resin at the moment.

No, especially as Modiphius have the new RPG due out later this year so there is likely to be closer scrutiny over the IP which is with GF9/Battlefront? Not that an IP gets much consideration in wargaming circles  :-X

Right, that's the one I've been after.

I'd love to get more of the BOF ones but no idea whats happened to them.

You have these for 20mm http://mjfigures.co.uk/product-category/20mm/20mm-scifi/

Try Mad Robot Miniatures “Vanderbilt Fighters” for Freman as I have them as well as GW Necromunda Van Saar to use and I’m using the Hazmat Figures from Anvil Industry as the Emperor’s finest Shardaukar

Really? I didn't think it ever even made it to metal. Thanks for salting my wound!  ;)

I hope so.

(Before I get a flood of emails or PMs, I don’t have any indication of if or when it will return - Hasslefree bought the range ages ago).

It was a pretty generic range of minis and would serve for a variety of different sci-fi settings.

 :)
