Beautiful stuff! Getting some really good 80s fantasy artwork vibes! Love it  :-*

What varnishing techniques do you use?

Let's see how this one turned out...

I really like these guys. Proper thuggish looking gang.
Are they old Citadel chaos warriors?
My armies:
- Henry VIII's army (WIP) 15mm
- Ancient Germans (28mm)
- Ancient Belgae (Gauls with German allies) (28mm)
- Massilian Greeks (Greeks and Gallic mercenaries/subjects) (28mm)
- A few EI Romans (28mm)
- Handful of WW2 British (15mm)
- A load of old 1993-1999ish Warhammer Orcs and Goblins

That's a Citadel Ogre named Skragg the Slaughterer from the '80's and 4 Grenadier Fantasy Warriors Chaos Warriors by Mark Copplestone.

I build up all of the base and highlights, and then ink down what I need to before applying The Army Painter Dark Tone Dip in a brush on fashion, using mineral spirits to thin the dip to prevent clouding, all the while allowing it to outline the important folds and creases.

The three hooded sword wielders are on deck next. They are Tom Meier Ral Partha sculpts that I'm using for a monastic sword mystic order called the Blacksun Blademasters. They act as an armed guard/secret police force for House Starborean.

I'm practicing my flame patterns because in keeping with the Blacksun theme, they will have flames adorning the fringes of their cloaks and hoods. For now here's a WIP shot.
