Suvla Bay temporary pier

The amphibious landings at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, took place in August 1915. Here is an original photo of a temporary landing pier:



Here is a 3D printed version that I created. It is sitting on a 30mm x 60mm base. The Beetle infantry landing craft are from PT-Dockyard:

Looks good, you are really getting into this 3d printing malarky.

It is one of those items that must be hard to choose what size looks right on table, with the figures, boats and ground scale all conflicting.

Once the figures are near it, it looks like it could do to be longer, but with just the boats in the photo the size looks fine.

I can give up this malarky anytime I want... it is not addictive  o_o.

In a wargame, the figures won't be near the pier. Only the boats, so that is what has driven the scale.

Here is what a Beetle looks like if you go to 1/300 scale for the boats:
