(Commercial) Nightwatch now available
« on: August 09, 2020, 04:52:57 PM »
Monster Hunting for fun and profit with your friends. Oh, and rid the world of evil.

Made for solo/co-op gaming, Nightwatch uses the same Action Dice pool mechanics as its cyberpunk cousin Hardwired, then adds a mix-n-match system for hunter classes, weapon, armor and gear options.

Miniature agnostic with simple missions and campaigns, you should be able to stat out that one cool fantasy miniature you've never quite found a use for, read the book in the afternoon and go on your first hunt that night.

For my modest experience the fortune of this kind of games lies entirely in the scenario produced. This proved to be the fortune of RoSD and the much smaller success of SS&SS, so the question is: how many scenarios are in the book? Are they linked in a strong story?

There's an introductory campaign. A seven-mission hunt for a necromancer. That's it, tho.
So NW might not be a game for you.
Then again, my experience and preferences lay with 'toolbox' rule sets.
I have as many scenario ideas bouncing around my head as unpainted miniatures under my desks. So an open system not only lets me try them out, but gives me a reason to paint some of those figs.
