Now would really be a good time to announce future plans for the range! Well good for me in any case.  :D

This is excellent news.  Any plans on how the range will be expanded?
I have a cunning plan... as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

My guess is that they're wearing "duck" canvas shoes. Just a guess, of course.

Nike had a contract to supply foot wear to the Spanish army in the 1930's........ OK they are duck canvass.  ;)

There are many great things about the Spanish army of this period such as the characters involved and style of the uniforms, the white boots being a good example. Certainly a very unusual pre WW2 army to paint.

We have started work on getting the building back into production as they are lovely models that add so much character to this conflict.

They are also good for a considerable period covering such conflicts as the Peninsula and Carlist wars.

We do have some plans to add some more vehicles and after our holidays we plan to start the research on some specific personalities. The range also needs more female figures  lol

Oh yes. If I ever get around to doing a POUM militia, I should want Blanca and Maite from Land and Freedom in it.  :)

The shoes are 'Alpargatas' and come in two varieties, 'Aragonesa' which are open and secured with laces and 'Castellano' which are closed and either slip on or laced-ups. The soles were made of rope, very much like boat shoes. The uppers were usually canvas, or more rarely leather. They were cheap, light, sturdy and commonly wore in the summer. They can still be found in shops in Spain today. The Spanish army issued them for summer wear as it saved wear on boots, which were in comparison quite expensive.

God.... I'm such a nerd...  :?

I'd like to see some medics, ration carriers etc. Artillery is also lacking, particularly the 'mountain guns' used as battalion support weapons. La Legion in summer hats..... I could go on for days... really.  ;)

Please go on Jim.  ;) It really is very useful for us.

Medics and artillery we have recognised.

Command groups is another.

Personalities and women already mentioned.

Civilians we thought of, but given the nature of the conflict we wondered if they would be of interest to gamers or, due to the brutal nature of the conflict they may actually put some people off :?

All ideas much appreciated.....although it does not mean that we will do everything  ;)

Since Jim moved this topic in the 'wishlist' category ;D

Anything Jim said and certainly the artillery. And vehicles to tow them.
Medics and ration carriers would be fabulous
Same goes for command groups.

Legion in summer hats would be great, but infantry, artillery crews and perhaps cavalry in winter dress 'capota' would be even better IMHO.

Moroccans in summer dress ie. shirt sleeves.
I feel that Moroccan and Legion troops need another set of figures. Charging with bayonets for example, or a mix between charging and throwing grenades. Something suitably ferocious.

I probably stand alone in this, but I also feel that some extra infantry sets in what you could call standard issue clothing would be perfect.
One or two sets in Guerera tunic and the same in cazadora blouse. Some of the infantry units, both Nationalist and Republican need a slightly more 'regular' look and these sets could provide that. Also the conversion possibilities would be almost endless.

But you know what? I'll be really greatfull for ANY new addition ;)

I second the medics.  I would also like to see priests - some armed and some not - and bicycle mounted soldiers.
