Dust Games 1:48 Scale LUTHER German Walker
« on: August 13, 2009, 04:45:21 PM »
I've had this undercoated for months just gathering dust ( if you excuse the pun!! :) )
I thought I'd give it a quick lick of paint to keep the old fingers nimble.

I think it should fit in pretty well as support for my Sturmgrenadiers...... All I need to do now is decide on an appropriate Designation/Name for it.

Lovely piece.  :-*

How about "Donnerkeil" (Thunderbolt), if you want to go for the martial way? With all those barrels, it´s bound to make quite some noise...

Or for a more funny approach, "Donnerlüttchen", which is a slightly dated word signifying appreciative surprise. Additionally, it could be interpreted as a "small thunder" ("lütt" being a dialect term for "small", related to english "little"), and finally, well, it´s got an Umlaut. ;)

if you want Umlaute, you have the possibility to call it "Böser Onkel"  ;)

Personally, I'd call it awesome.

Because it certainly is.  Nice job!

Lovely looking model and a great paintjob.

Oh, love the sig too - Woody Allen for the win! I think my favourite from him is this one: 'How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?'

Back on topic, though - great job on the Dust walker!

Thanks for the comments! I was unsure whether to go for my normal colour scheme or camo. I'm pretty pleased I stuck with the dunkelgelb.

I love "Donnerkeil" as a name. It sounds suitably martial ( and noisy!!). Saying that, "Böser Onkel"  sounds quite scary...and it's got an Umlaute.  :)

Ha! Well spotted Hawkeye (again no pun intended!!). Not my favourite comedian but he has delivered some excellent one-liners.

My German is pretty poor but what about "Böser Wolf" as a little tribute to Dr Who?

Simply incredulous. Your work never ceases to impress me, and that's probably got to be one of the finest examples of wear and weathering I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks again for the positive comments. :)
I've got a couple of weeks leave so hopefully I will get the rest of my Sturmgrenadiers painted and my Stug.

If my German is correct "Böser Wolf" should mean "Bad Wolf", although auto-translators and poor knowledge has made me make some rather amusing mistakes in the past.

Commander: I got it from Quarter Kit ages ago. It was about 25 Euros at the time, but I don't think they sell them anymore.

In this case, you're correct. "Böser Wolf" translates well as "Bad" or "Evil" Wolf, a Black Wolf would be a "Schwarzer Wolf"  ;)
