I asked Pete Berry about the size of the print run and orders he said:

"The publication will definitely go ahead. 'Publish means Publish!' Should the unthinkable happen, then refunds will be issued. This is not KS where you lose your money at the whim of the people running the project."

That’s good to hear. 1500 subscribers seems quite ambitious.

I expect there will be more backers when we get closer to pay day

I’ve just added my order.

In addition to the comments above about their ready adaptability to different periods and being ideal for solo wargaming.........they are simply great fun.  A hardback book plus laminated incident cards seems good value when comparing it to other rule publications.

There are extensive ranges of figures from 28mm through to 6mm so there are plenty of options available taking account of the space that each of us might have.  And plastics on the horizon.......(I better just say that’s a joke)

I wonder if a taster could be given in the form of the scaled plans showing the scenery useful for the game?  We could all be getting on with that whilst waiting for it to come back from the printers.

I've orederd it too  :D

I've also order a few Essex 15mm ACW figures that I will paint to look like the "7th cavalry"... is there a place where I can get an idea on how the figures are based for this game? :?

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

For 15mm figures the basing is as follows.  Per figure, frontage by depth

All mounted figures 15mm by 30mm
Dismounted cavalry, scouts and Indians on foot 15mm by 15mm
US infantry 12mm by12mm
Buffalo and cattle 15mm by “as required”
Wagons, Stage, Warwagon, Gun limbers etc 30mm by “as required”
Deployed gun crews 50mm by 40mm

This is lifted from the original publication but it has already been made clear that the reprint will not make any changes.

I’m sure others will be able to give advice to those who are considering the game in other scales.

The Facebook page that has been started for Pony Wars is maintaining sections for recommendations for figures in 28mm, 20mm, 15mm, 10mm and 6mm.

Anyone with recommendations for manufacturers can make an input there whilst, as it expands, it will provide sources for those looking to start collecting figures.  Some good suggestions are already up as well as photos which should provide inspiration.

I think I have something from all of the manufacturers making 15mm.  I would happily recommend all of them as variety improves the spectacle.  However, for a first source of Plains Indians I would suggest Irregular Miniatures are well worth a look.

Don't know precisely when but Peter mentioned they are in the 'final final final' stage of review before going to the publishers.

For a question of scale, the game fit well in 15mm and under.
10mm may be the best for a wide space to run hundred of indians galloping over the country looking for trouble.
Above, you'll need a very, very great tabletop otherwise you risk having an overcrowded table.
The scenary need a lot of place and gret open space between the settlements to be playable and fun, etc.....
We used mountain chain and pass to cut the table and the line of sight because it's very important in the game mechanism.
 ;)

i forget to mention the Tabletop 15mm pony wars range.

some Hovels can be seen here :

I was told this on 13th April. Just wondered if there was an update on when the rules will be posted out?
